Female Squirting: Techniques, Positions & Pictures Explained

23 min read

Understanding how to make a girl squirt can transform you into the best lover she's ever had, and this guide walks you through the exact steps to help any partner get there.

Before diving in, let's cover some groundwork that will make squirting far easier to achieve consistently. That means understanding her anatomy, and just as importantly, learning how to get her relaxed and in the right headspace so she's willing and eager to let go.

You can jump straight to the techniques by clicking here, but reading this entire Squirting Guide start to finish is strongly recommended if you want to truly master it.

What Is Squirting (Some Confuse It With Peeing!)

Squirting often gets mistaken for peeing, and the sensation of feeling like she's about to pee can make plenty of women uncomfortable. Comfort isn't just nice to have here — it's essential, because if she's worried about peeing, she'll likely tense up and unintentionally block herself from squirting.

Why do women squirt?

Unlike urination, squirting is an involuntary response triggered by G-spot stimulation, meaning rubbing her G-spot is the key if you want to make a girl ejaculate. Squirting frequently — though not universally [1] — accompanies a G-spot orgasm. Squirting and peeing share the same exit point, her urethra, which is where the similarity comes from. What she releases is typically a small amount of prostatic fluid [2], sometimes so minor you'd barely distinguish it from ordinary arousal wetness.

Some women, however, release a considerably larger volume, including fluid drawn from the bladder itself.

Her Squirting Anatomy

I went in-depth on her vaginal anatomy in the Pussy Eating Guide — check it out if anything about her body still feels unclear.

Her G Spot

Her G Spot is the single most critical part of her vagina to understand when you're trying to make your girlfriend squirt. You'll find it depicted in the diagram above, positioned along the front (or anterior) wall of her vagina [3, 4, 5] — meaning the side nearest her belly button.

Finding it is step one toward mastering how to make her squirt. Insert one lubricated finger into her vagina and run the pad of your finger (the part with your fingerprint) along that upper wall. Expect her G Spot to sit roughly 2-3 inches deep [6].

You'll recognize it by touch — it feels something like a wet raspberry or a small cluster of grapes: soft, with a slightly ribbed texture and small "gutters" running along either side [7 p 82-83].

Important: Her G Spot is much easier to locate once she's genuinely aroused. Just as your penis needs arousal to get hard, her G Spot stays essentially hidden until she's turned on and wanting it. Skip Step 1 on turning her on (releasing the "Brakes" on her sex drive) and Step 2 on making her horny (intensifying the "Accelerators"), and she won't be aroused enough for you to find it at all.

Her Skene's Gland

The Skene's glands sit within the G Spot region [10], sometimes referred to as the female prostate [8] since it functions as the female counterpart to the prostate [9]. Plenty of people simply treat the Skene's gland and G-spot as the same thing. Technically, her Skene's gland sits outside the vagina itself — it's "located in the front portion of the vaginal wall around the lower end of the urethra" [11].

As arousal builds, her Skene's gland swells and fills with the fluid that eventually gets released when she squirts.

Keep in mind: skip the warmup and rush straight to trying to make her squirt without enough foreplay, and her Skene's gland simply won't have had time to swell and fill, making it far harder for her to squirt.

So, put simply, stimulating her Skene's gland means stimulating her G Spot — and I'm about to walk you through a whole collection of techniques for doing exactly that.

Which is why this entire guide centers on G Spot stimulation.

Her G Spot and Skene's gland together form the most important anatomical focus for achieving female ejaculation. We'll also touch on other techniques you can layer in, but stimulating her G Spot and Skene's gland remains the foundation everything else builds on.

The Key To Making Squirting Easy

Most people assume squirting comes down to fingering technique — that if she's not squirting, it must be because the rubbing, pressing, or massaging isn't quite right.

Usually, that's not actually the problem.

The number-one reason women struggle to squirt is that the Brakes holding back her sex drive haven't been properly released, and/or the Accelerators that would make her wildly aroused and ready haven't been sufficiently engaged. You can dig deeper into releasing those Brakes in the guide to turning her on and intensifying her Accelerators in the guide to making her horny — but here's the short version…

Remove The Brakes

Certain factors get in the way of a woman fully letting go and getting turned on, including:

  • Stress.
  • Anxiety.
  • Depression.
  • Exhaustion.
  • Certain medications.
  • Bad past experiences.
  • Fears about pregnancy and STIs.
  • Etc.

If any of these are weighing on your partner, relaxing enough to squirt is naturally going to be tough.

But following my advice in the guide to turning her on will help you clear these Brakes away from her sex drive.

Once those Brakes are handled, the remaining obstacle is usually a lack of Accelerators to actually get her aroused and craving more.

Intensify The Accelerators

These are the ingredients that make your girl genuinely horny and eager for sex, including:

  • Her feeling desired and wanted.
  • Being with a guy she finds attractive.
  • Experiencing intense sexual tension.
  • The right type of physical foreplay.
  • etc.

I break down exactly how to intensify these Accelerators in the guide to make her horny, complete with detailed instructions for getting her genuinely wild for you.

Once turning her on comes naturally, with the Brakes cleared and Accelerators engaged, making her squirt boils down to using the right technique — which turns out to be surprisingly straightforward…

A Little Preparation

Obvious, but worth repeating: never risk nicking or scratching her vagina with a sharp edge. Trim your fingernails, and file them too.

Trimming alone isn't enough. Filing is essential to remove any sharp edges that might hurt her.

Along the same lines, make sure your hands aren't rough or cracked. Exfoliating and moisturizing regularly keeps them smooth.

Squirting Technique

Start by inserting your middle finger into her vagina, making sure it's wet and lubricated (learn about your lube options) so it slides in easily. Ideally she'll be wet enough that her own arousal coats your finger before you enter her; if not, try wetting it with your mouth, or fall back on lube.

As your finger goes in, brush the pad of it (the fingerprint side) against the upper vaginal wall, matching the illustration above. Stroke gently and pay attention to how she reacts.

After roughly a minute of this, ease your middle finger back out. Next, you'll insert both your middle and ring fingers together.

To keep the motion pleasurable, coat your ring finger with her wetness too, or use saliva or lube.

As your index and middle fingers slide in (matching the illustration above), curl them slightly around her pubic bone so they apply pressure directly to her G Spot region.

If this is a first attempt at making her squirt, spend some time exploring with your fingertips — extend them deeper, then curl back toward a shallower point, running your fingertips along that upper vaginal wall the entire time.

Doing this lets you feel the different textures inside her, helping you pinpoint exactly where her G Spot sits… remember, it feels roughly like a wet raspberry.

Now for the main event — stimulating her G Spot to make her squirt! Here's a range of techniques to try; experiment with all of them and settle into whichever ones click best for you two.

Push The Button

True to its name, this technique involves repeatedly pressing her G Spot with your finger, almost like pushing a button, up and down. Play around with how much pressure and speed you use — some women respond to a light touch, while others need something firmer.

This can feel great without necessarily being enough on its own to push her over the edge.

Rubbing Her G Spot

Another option is rubbing her G Spot in circular motions while keeping steady pressure with your fingertip. For some women, this alone triggers squirting; for others, it just feels good without quite finishing the job.

Thankfully, the next technique tends to close that gap.

Come Hither Motion

A "come hither" or beckoning motion with your middle and ring fingers lets your fingertips sweep back and forth across her G Spot, delivering noticeably more stimulation. Again, experiment with pressure and exact placement.

As you curl your fingers inward, apply plenty of pressure to her G Spot, then release that pressure as you straighten them back out, building pressure again as you curl once more.

For a lot of women, this alone gets the job done. Still, a couple of issues can crop up with any of these three approaches:

  1. Your fingers and wrist may tire out well before she's close to finishing.
  2. The stimulation simply might not be intense enough for her.

That's exactly why I've saved the Arm Shaker for last — it's about as close to foolproof as squirting techniques get.

The Arm Shaker

The Arm Shaker builds on the previous three techniques with a couple of key tweaks. Rather than relying on your fingers and hand alone, you'll engage your whole arm. Keep your fingers locked in place with the tips pressed firmly against her G Spot, then use your entire arm to deliver far more pressure than before.

Keep your arm fairly rigid while raising and lowering it rapidly. With your fingertips anchored against her G Spot, this delivers a huge amount of pressure — and it's nearly guaranteed to make her squirt.

Extra Pressure

If she's still struggling with female ejaculation even after trying every technique above, have her apply downward pressure to her Mons Pubis as shown in the illustration above, or use your free hand to do it for her.

Applying pressure this way essentially presses her G Spot further into her vagina, giving you more to work with.

Just be careful not to overdo the pressure here, since pushing too hard puts real strain on her bladder, which can trigger the urge to pee and pull her right out of the moment.

You can use this same technique during sex too, if she needs more G Spot pressure in the moment.

Clit & G spot

Now it's time to combine forces for double the pleasure. Use one hand for the clit-rubbing techniques described above while your other hand penetrates her and works her G Spot — stimulating her clitoris from both the inside and outside simultaneously.

The trickiest part is managing to comfortably use both hands at once…

So which positions make dual-hand fingering easiest?

  • Standing behind her tends to work best, letting you reach around easily while kissing her neck.
  • Her on all fours with you kneeling behind her, reaching around — you may need to lean forward, which also lets you kiss her back.
  • You on your back with her lying on top of you, also on her back.

Check out the guide on how to finger your girl for tips on stimulating her clit pleasurably.

If one hand is occupied pressing on her mons, have her rub her own clit while you focus on her G-spot. With her handling her own clit, you gain the freedom to try a wider range of positions, some more comfortable or better suited to sustained G-spot stimulation.

Sex Toys

Once you know your girl enjoys squirting and wants to expand her repertoire, sex toys are a great next step. Standard dildos and penis-shaped vibrators can work, but keep an eye out for toys purpose-built for G Spot stimulation — their curved or contoured tips do much of the work for you.

Some women gravitate toward firmer materials like hard plastic, glass, or metal since they deliver the intensity needed for G-spot orgasm and squirting, while others don't need anything that intense. Only she knows what actually works, so check in and get her honest feedback.

Squirting during sex

If she squirts readily when you finger her (more fingering techniques) and you both enjoy it, bringing squirting into penetrative sex is a natural next step.

The same prep advice applies here — clear the Brakes, engage the Accelerators, and get her thoroughly aroused. From there, your main consideration becomes which position to penetrate her in. This isn't the moment to stress about lasting longer — just focus on the angle.

The image above shows a solid angle for stimulating her G Spot during sex.

The illustration below shows an exaggerated, more extreme angle that would theoretically deliver even more G Spot stimulation as your penis glides over it with each stroke. In practice, something this extreme would be nearly impossible to maintain and might feel more like uncomfortable poking than pleasure.

I included it anyway because finding the angle that works for HER is the whole point (and remember — get her feedback on what's actually working!).

One of the best things about making a girl squirt during sex is that deep penetration isn't required, as both images above show. Just 1-3 inches is usually enough to stroke her G Spot and trigger squirting, which means even guys who aren't particularly well-endowed can absolutely make this happen.

So while we do have a guide covering the science behind how to make your penis bigger, size isn't actually a requirement here.

One more thing worth noting: if she struggles to squirt from fingering alone, squirting during sex will likely be even harder to achieve. My advice is to nail the techniques above reliably first, before worrying too much about whether squirting happens during intercourse itself.

She might also find it easier once she's learned how to squirt on her own.

Sex Positions For Squirting

The Sex Position Guide covers over 100 different positions worth trying with your girl.

Great…

But not every position lends itself to squirting. Below are some favorites specifically for maximizing G Spot stimulation and making squirting more likely as you penetrate her.

The trick to making these positions actually work is adapting them to your own bodies and preferences. Your build and your partner's will differ from the demonstrations below, and so will your individual preferences.

Following any of my position advice — or any sex advice, really — rigidly and without adjustment is a recipe for mediocre sex. Adapting it to what genuinely works for you two is what matters.

G Spot Position – True to its name, this position centers entirely on hitting her G Spot with every thrust. More information on the G Spot position.

Launch Pad Position – This one hands your girl plenty of control over penetration depth — she can push back with her feet if it's too deep, or relax her legs to let you go deeper.

You'll notice this position makes it easy to "bottom out" against her cervix, so proceed with care even if you're only average-sized. Remember, just 1-3 inches is all it takes to stimulate her G Spot and trigger squirting.

The further back she leans in the Launch Pad position, the more intense and direct her G Spot stimulation becomes. Learn more about the Launch Pad position.

Pearly Gates Position – Plenty of couples have never tried Pearly Gates, and it's a great way to put her in the driver's seat — you'll be on your back with her on top, giving her control over depth, speed, and the exact pressure applied to her G Spot. Learn more about the Pearly Gates position.

Bouncing Spoon Position – Similar to Pearly Gates in that thrusting isn't really an option, giving her full control over whether she wants in-and-out motion, grinding, or a mix of both. Learn more about the Bouncing Spoon Sex Position.

Crab Sex Position – Essentially Cowgirl with a twist — she leans back and supports herself on her hands. Like the previous two positions, she can take the lead here, though you can still add some thrusting of your own in the Crab sex position.

Spooning and its variations – Depending on your builds, Spooning along with variations like Teaspooning and the Sideways sex position can deliver great G Spot stimulation while also feeling remarkably intimate for both partners.

The one catch with Spooning: not every woman feels her G Spot get stimulated in this position. Best advice — just try it and see for yourselves. Learn more about the Spooning sex position.

Jockey Position – Looking for a Doggy Style variation? The Jockey position might fit the bill. Your girl lies flat on her stomach while you straddle her from above.

Simple thrusting here provides some G Spot stimulation, but there's a better approach…

Rather than thrusting in and out, try grinding instead, similar to the motion used in the Coital Alignment Technique (CAT). Stay deep inside her throughout, moving forward along her body while staying deep, then backward while still staying deep. This drags the tip of your penis back and forth across her G Spot with real pressure. Learn more about the Jockey position.

Doggy Style – Plenty of women love Doggy Style for its more intense G-spot stimulation, though it may not be ideal specifically for triggering squirting. Try starting in Doggy Style, her on all fours with you entering from behind, then transition to another position once she's ready to squirt.

Get Feedback

Get these techniques right, and squirting becomes achievable for most women. That said, not every woman responds to every technique covered here. Figuring out what actually works for her, and what she specifically needs to squirt, comes down to feedback…

I've mentioned this already in the guide to eating pussy, but it's worth repeating because it matters so much…

Get. Her. Feedback.

Passive feedback – One way to gauge her response is simply watching her face and body language as you apply these techniques.

Eyes rolling back, an "O" shape forming with her mouth, sounds of genuine pleasure — that's a clear sign you're doing something right.

But if her expression reads as frustrated, bored, or blank, and she's staying silent, she may not be enjoying it as much, meaning a technique adjustment might help. Keep in mind that sounds of discomfort and pleasure can sound remarkably alike.

Active feedback – Actually talking to her and getting concrete feedback matters enormously. It's tough if your ego bruises easily, but it'll make you a genuinely better lover. With an open, judgment-free attitude on both sides, this becomes fairly painless.

Active feedback remains the fastest route to improving in every area of your sex life.

Troubleshooting

Learning how to make your girl squirt isn't always straightforward. Some couples find it comes naturally, while others hit wall after wall. This troubleshooting rundown should help pinpoint and resolve the major roadblocks getting in her way.

1. The Need To Pee

Glance back at the anatomy illustrations above, and you'll notice her G Spot and Skene's gland sit right next to her bladder. That means pressing on her G Spot can indirectly put pressure on her bladder too. On top of that, arousal-driven swelling of the G-spot [12] can add to that sensation.

And when she does squirt, the fluid exits through her urethra — the same channel urine uses — which leaves plenty of women feeling like they're peeing even when they're not. If she's holding back what she believes is pee, she won't be able to ejaculate at all.

Bladder pressure naturally makes anyone feel the urge to pee. Test it yourself right now — press just below your belly button and notice the sensation.

We even surveyed women about what squirting feels like, and plenty of responses mentioned that "need to pee" sensation right before squirting.

A few strategies can help with this feeling:

  • Have her use the bathroom before sex so her bladder starts out empty.
  • Talk it through together, so she understands why the pee-like sensation shows up even when she's actually about to squirt.
  • If bed-wetting worries are the issue, try squirting in the shower first so cleanup is a non-issue, or lay down a towel or sex blanket for extra peace of mind.
  • Let her experiment with squirting solo and/or in the shower, easing the pressure to perform and making cleanup simple regardless.

2. She Wants To Squirt, But Nothing Happens

She's ready to ejaculate, so the two of you set out to stimulate her G-spot. She's relaxed and aroused, that "need to pee" sensation kicks in, and you've either got a towel down or you're in the shower so it's a non-issue either way. And yet — nothing.

What gives?

The straightforward answer: her urethra needs a clear path for ejaculation to happen. Fingers, a penis, or a toy inside her vagina can end up blocking that pathway and preventing release.

The fix is simple…

The moment she feels orgasm or ejaculation building, pull out whatever's inside her so the fluid can flow freely.

It also helps if she bears down using her PC muscles (the same ones engaged during Kegel exercises) to push the fluid out further and harder. That pushing motion is a core part of her squirting technique, and if she has a squirting orgasm, the resulting contractions can put on quite a show.

3. She Gets Very Wet But Doesn't Squirt Like In The Movies

Watch enough pornography, and you'll see squirting scenes where a stream shoots several feet into the air.

Impressive, right?

The catch is that it's frequently faked — look closely, and you'll often see the fluid was inserted beforehand purely so it can be squeezed back out on camera.

Some women genuinely do release a larger volume that includes bladder fluid, but that's the exception rather than the norm.

Most women squirt a smaller amount that doesn't travel very far, and plenty simply release small amounts of fluid rather than a dramatic stream.

So if you're following this advice carefully and your girl never produces a stream but instead just gets noticeably wetter or leaks/gushes some fluid, don't get discouraged! That may be as close to squirting as she gets, or she might actually be squirting more than either of you realizes.

4. She Gets Nothing From It At All 🙁 What Am I Doing Wrong?

A handful of different issues could be at play here….

She Doesn't Want to Squirt – She might just not be into the concept, finding it a turnoff rather than exciting. Maybe it feels dirty to her, too close to peeing, embarrassing, or tied to some other negative association.

Sometimes an open, judgment-free conversation can help her reframe squirting as something erotic rather than something to avoid. If that doesn't shift things, though, there's not much more you can do — and pushing harder for it to happen will only make it less likely.

It's a bit like a girlfriend wanting to try a strap-on: if you're not into the idea, the more she pushes, the less appealing it gets. Fortunately, there's no shortage of other ways to make her orgasm.

Incorrect Technique – Maybe the stimulation isn't quite matching what she needs. The fix here is simple conversation and experimentation — even having her show you directly what she's looking for.

She Doesn't Know Her Body – She may genuinely not know what kind of stimulation triggers squirting for her, especially if it's never happened before. In that case, solo masturbation exploration, or experimenting together with different techniques and combinations, can help uncover what actually works.

You Haven't Removed The Brakes Or Increased The Accelerators To Her Sex Drive – Stress, exhaustion, frustration, or a distracted mind will all make arousal difficult to reach in the first place, which rules out squirting entirely. I call this process Removing The Brakes on her sex drive so arousal becomes possible.

And without enough turn-on and foreplay to let her Skene's Gland and G Spot properly swell, squirting will remain elusive. That's what I mean by increasing the Accelerators to get her genuinely wild for you.

Physical Issue Preventing Squirting – Sometimes an injury (to the urethra, say) or an underlying condition prevents squirting or even blunts pleasure from G-spot stimulation entirely. No matter how determined you are, it may simply not be physically possible for her.

Some Combination of the Above Issues – More often than not, the actual cause isn't a single clear-cut factor but some blend of the ones above. Once you've identified them, working through each one gradually makes squirting easier to achieve.

5. Is Squirting Pee?

As covered above, squirting releases a small amount of fluid from the Skene's gland, and to directly answer "Can all women squirt?" — likely yes, though the volume can be so minimal it goes unnoticed. When women worry about peeing during sex, it's usually really about bladder control issues, which is a separate matter from squirting [13].

What Is Female Ejaculation?

Female ejaculation refers to a considerably larger volume of fluid originating from the bladder [14], which mixes with prostate fluid before being released through the urethra [15, 16].

Research indicates ejaculate does contain trace elements found in urine, though heavily diluted [17]. Some women can ejaculate a substantial amount even having just urinated before sex, since arousal itself causes the bladder to refill considerably [18]. Peeing after sex is generally recommended to help prevent UTIs, though doing so can end up flushing out ejaculate that wasn't released during sex itself.

Now that you understand what's actually happening when a woman squirts, you're better prepared to help her get there.

6. Does Squirt Make Good Lube?

"Squirt" and female ejaculation aren't identical [17] and differ in texture, so one may work better as lube than the other. If penetrative sex follows squirting (or you want to keep going), keep a bottle of lube handy just in case, particularly if you're only partially erect.
